The goal of backgammon is to move all 15 of your checkers into your home board and then bear them all off before your opponent does. You advance your checkers using the dice, blocking and hitting your opponent along the way to slow them down. Once every one of your checkers is home, you begin removing them from the board. The first player to bear off all fifteen wins the game. Depending on how far behind the loser is, the win can be a single, a double gammon, or a triple backgammon, which affects how much is scored or won in chips.
