Okey has its own vocabulary, blending English game terms with Turkish words you'll hear at any table. Here's a clear A-to-Z glossary so nothing trips you up.

Core Terms

Okey: The wild tile of the hand, equal to one number above the indicator in the same color. It can substitute for any tile in a run or set. Also the name of the game itself.

Gösterge (Indicator): The face-up tile flipped at the start of a hand. It determines which tile is the Okey — namely, the tile one rank higher in the same color.

False Joker (Sahte Okey): One of two blank-faced tiles that take on the identity of the Okey tile for the current hand. It's wild, just like the real Okey.

Rack (Istaka): The sloped tray that holds and hides each player's tiles.

Tile & Group Terms

Run (Seri): Three or more consecutive numbers in the same color, e.g., blue 4-5-6.

Set (Grup): Three or four tiles of the same number in different colors, e.g., red 8, black 8, blue 8.

Pool / Stock: The face-down stack of tiles players draw from.

Discard: The tile you place down at the end of your turn, passed to the player on your right.

Game-Flow Terms

Finishing / Going Out: Completing your entire rack into valid runs and sets and discarding your final tile to win the hand.

Çanak / Pot: The collective table level (in chip-based online play) won by the player who finishes the hand.

Advanced Terms

Pair Hand (Çift / Çifte Gitme): A special way to finish in some variants, where the hand is built entirely from matching pairs instead of runs and sets, often scoring extra.

Okeyle Bitirme (Finishing on the Okey): Going out by discarding the Okey tile itself as your final tile — usually worth bonus points.

Classic (Klasik) Okey: The traditional ruleset using the indicator and the wild Okey with full scoring. Flat (Düz) Okey: A simplified, faster-scoring variant.

Knowing these terms makes every table — and every guide — easier to follow. You'll find them all in action inside Game Finale.
