The flying king captures by moving along a straight line, jumping a single enemy piece in its path, and landing on any empty square beyond it. Because of its range, the king does not need to be next to the piece it takes — it can capture from a distance, then stop on any free square past the captured man. If another capture is then possible, it must continue jumping, chaining multiple pieces in one turn. The king captures forward, backward, or sideways along rows and columns. This distance capturing makes a single dama able to sweep several enemy men at once.
