Çanak Okey plays by the same rules as straight Okey; the only real difference is economic. The tiles, the 14-tile hands, the indicator and okey (joker), and the way you finish with runs and sets plus a discard are all identical. What changes is the chip flow: in Çanak, an ante from each player feeds a growing pot called the çanak, and the hand's winner takes that pot, so the reward accumulates across hands. Straight Okey settles more directly per hand. Both use virtual chips only, so neither is gambling and nothing can be cashed out. Learn one and you effectively know the other.
