Which card to lead depends on your goal: lead trumps to strip them from opponents when you are strong, or lead a suit where you hold sure winners to bank tricks safely. If you won the bid and have long trumps, leading trumps early pulls them out of opponents' hands and clears a path for your other cards. If you are trying to make a modest bid, lead your highest guaranteed winners first. When defending against the bidder, lead suits you think will be awkward for them. Reading the situation each trick, rather than always leading the same way, is what makes a strong Batak player.
