Bidding Batak, known as Ihaleli Batak, is the version where players hold an auction and the top bidder both names the trump suit and commits to winning that many tricks. Instead of trumps being fixed in advance, the right to choose them is won through bidding. The highest bidder gains control but takes on the risk: if they fail to make their bid, they go bust.
