A good trump strategy is to pick a trump suit where you hold many high cards, and to use your trumps to capture valuable tricks rather than waste them early. If you win the bid, choosing your longest, strongest suit as trump makes it easier to control the hand. During play, leading trumps can draw them out of opponents' hands and clear the way for your side-suit winners.
- Save high trumps to over-trump opponents late in the hand.
