Setup Questions
How many tiles are in Okey? There are 106 tiles: numbers 1–13 in four colors, each appearing twice (104 tiles), plus two false jokers.
How many players is Okey for? Classic Okey is designed for exactly four players seated around a table, each with their own rack.
What is the indicator (gösterge)? The indicator is a tile flipped face-up at the start of each hand. Its only purpose is to define the Okey for that hand.
Gameplay Questions
What is the Okey tile? The Okey is the wild tile of the hand, determined by the indicator: it's the tile one number higher in the same color. It can substitute for any tile, and it changes every hand.
What's a run and what's a set? A run is three or more consecutive numbers in the same color (e.g., red 5-6-7). A set is three or four tiles of the same number in different colors (e.g., black 9, blue 9, red 9).
What happens when the indicator is a 13? The Okey wraps around to 1 of the same color, since there's no 14. An indicator of yellow 13 makes yellow 1 the Okey.
Winning and Scoring Questions
How do you win a hand of Okey? You win by arranging your entire rack into valid runs and sets and discarding your final tile to "go out." Your hand must be fully grouped with no leftover tiles.
How does scoring work? In Classic (Klasik) Okey, the finisher is rewarded and opponents are penalized based on tiles left on their racks, with bonuses for finishing on the Okey. Flat (Düz) Okey uses simplified scoring for faster rounds.
