A false okey is one of the two blank tiles that represents the indicated tile during a hand.

The blanks have no printed number, so they take the identity of the tile shown by the indicator. If a red 5 is the indicator, each blank behaves as a red 5 and can be used in runs or sets as that tile. Do not confuse the false okey with the real okey joker: the blanks are ordinary tiles standing in for the indicator, while the true joker is the tile one number above it.
